This work is inspired by the Buddhist imagery of the Thousand-Armed Guanyin, in which the eyes symbolize wisdom and the hands symbolize compassion. The eye within the hand suggests the union of seeing and acting, awareness and response.
In this work, white ceramic hands emerge from a dark circular disc, connected by red threads that form a delicate web. One end of the threads is tied to different fingers, while the other is drawn toward a metal ring suspended by magnetic force. The red thread becomes a visible trace of invisible relationships, suggesting the constant pull, influence, and interdependence among all things.
Rather than simple abandonment, this piece refers to an act of offering, release, and transformation within a larger network of causes and conditions. The work reflects on how we are shaped by unseen forces, and how connection can exist through tension, distance, and quiet exchange.
