Twin Orchid Plate is a ceramic work inspired by the image of the orchid and its presence in my childhood memories. The soft pink surface is created through a unique firing process: clay strips dipped in a chrome oxide mixture are suspended above a plate glazed with tin oxide, allowing the color to develop through distance rather than direct contact.
During firing, the interaction between chrome and tin produces a pink blush on the plate, like a trace of influence left in the air. The porcelain orchids resting on the surface echo this subtle transformation, suggesting tenderness, memory, and the invisible forces that shape connection.
