The Silver Spring Teacup is part of my ceramic product line, inspired by the cool and quiet harmony between soft pink and silver. After the porcelain cup is fired, a layer of silver overglaze is applied to the surface, creating a metallic finish that shifts between matte softness and polished brightness.

When first taken from the kiln, the silver surface appears matte and requires hand polishing to reveal its shine. Because the overglaze contains a high percentage of silver, it behaves similarly to the metal itself: it may naturally oxidize over time, and can be polished again to restore or adjust its luster. Depending on the polishing process, each cup develops a slightly different surface quality, making every piece unique.
